Reservation Confirmations

A credit or debit card is required to guarantee your reservation and we reserve the right to verify (i.e. pre-authorize) your card up to the full amount of the stay.

For certain rates or special offers, please note that your credit/debit card may be pre-authorized or charged (sometimes without any option for refund) upon reservation and confirmation of the booking. Please check the offer details thoroughly for any such conditions prior to making your reservation.

Alternatively, a non-refundable deposit to the value of the first nights accommodation may be posted by way of cheque or postal order, made payable to The Lyness. Please allow three working days for cheques to clear.

Cancellations and Alterations

A minimum of seven days is required to cancel or alter a confirmed reservation. Cancellations made within less than seven days or in the case of no-shows, will be charged at the non-discounted rate of the first nights accommodation.

Refunds are not available for reservations terminated during the actual period of the stay.

Smoking Policy

For the comfort and safety of all our guests, we operate a strict non-smoking policy in all areas of the Guest House and in particular, the bedrooms. Guests who wish to smoke are invited to use the smoking area provided in the garden at the front of the property. Any guests who do smoke inside the building will be charged an additional fee of £100.00 which is required to clean the rooms and return them to their fresh smoke free condition.

Damages And Liability

We reserve the right to make reasonable charges to customers’ accounts for any and all damage to the fabrics, fixtures and fittings, howsoever caused. This does not include reasonable wear and tear. We are not responsible for any valuables e.g. mobile phones, laptop computers cash and jewellery etc. left on the premises during a customers’ stay.
